01Is it really free? What's the catch?+
There isn't one. Backtests run in your own browser, which costs us nothing, and the AI runs on your own free OpenRouter key, connected in one click. Your key stays in your browser and we never store it. We never see your money and take no cut of anything.
02Do I need an account?+
No — everything works without one. An account is optional and does exactly one job: it backs up your research record (theses, runs, the graveyard) and restores it on any device you sign in to. Sign in with a password from any device, or skip passwords with a one-tap email link. Your AI key is never part of a backup.
03Do I need to know Python?+
No. You describe the idea in plain English and Wyck, the strategy agent, writes the code. But the code is right there in the editor — readable, editable, and yours.
04Do you store my strategies?+
No. Your strategies, backtests, and research history live in your browser and run on your machine. If you leave sharing on in the studio settings, anonymous chats help Wyck get smarter over time, and you can turn it off whenever you like.
05What is OpenRouter and why do I need a key?+
OpenRouter is a service that gives you one account for many AI models, including genuinely free ones. Click Connect in the studio, approve once, and a key is created for you — it stays in your browser. The free tier easily covers a session of strategy work.
06What are the Living Reports?+
One dossier per tracked asset — stocks, indices, rates, gold, oil, FX, BTC and ETH — recomputed daily from primary sources and versioned like code, so the diff between versions is the digest. Ask Wyck about any of them right on the report page; he reads the same raw data you do. It's the closest thing to having a research desk that never sleeps.
07Can I trade this live?+
Not yet, and that's deliberate. A backtest, even an honest one, is a hypothesis, not a promise. What you can do today is a forward test: paper only, tracked on real candles as they close, so an idea earns trust in the open before anyone talks about real money.
08How is this different from TradingView or Composer?+
Pine Script generators stop at code you paste elsewhere. Visual builders cap what you can express. PakupAI closes the whole loop: describe, code, backtest, iterate. And where most tools work hard to show you a winner, this one works just as hard to prove your idea wrong first. Those are tools. This is the layer between the information and your decision.
09Why should I trust your numbers?+
Because we're the ones telling you when not to. The demo on the homepage fails its test, shown on purpose. And a final slice of history stays sealed while you iterate, so when you choose to reveal it, that number actually means something. A tool that only ever shows you winners is selling something.
10I already use Pine Script / TradingView. Does this help me?+
Yes, both directions. Paste your Pine Script into the chat and Wyck translates it to a runnable strategy, then backtests it with the honest split and look-ahead checks TradingView doesn't have. Going the other way, the → tradingview button in the editor converts your current strategy to Pine Script v6 so you can take it back to TradingView.
11What markets and timeframes can I test?+
BTC, ETH, and SOL against USD, from weekly bars down to 5-minute. Most timeframes carry the full listing history, topped up live in your browser to the most recent closed candle every time you open the studio. Stocks and more markets are on the roadmap.
